**Fair Work First is the Scottish Government's flagship policy for driving high quality and fair work, and workforce diversity across the labour market in Scotland.**

Fair Work First provides a 7-step criteria to help employers adopt and embrace fair working practices.

The 7 requirements are as follows:

• payment of at least the real Living Wage;
• provide appropriate channels for effective workers' voice, such as trade union recognition;
• investment in workforce development;
• no inappropriate use of zero hours contracts;
• action to tackle the gender pay gap and create a more diverse and inclusive workplace;
• offer flexible and family friendly working practices for all workers from day one of employment; and,
• oppose the use of fire and rehire practice.

Community Lab believes in a fair and healthy workplace where employers and contractors are celebrated for the value they bring to the table. We believe in giving voice to a diversity of perspectives to help shape a more inclusive and accessible world and are committed to, as a bare minimum, embracing the 7 Fair Work First criteria outlined by the Scottish Government.
