The Business Development Manager will be responsible for pipeline building, strategy, and execution, and will play a vital role in the sustainable growth and success of Community Lab. They will provide visionary, strategic leadership, foster inclusivity of thought, and promote the brand and actions of Community Lab. The ideal candidate will have a proven background in technology, philanthropy, charity or public sector, as well as a genuine interest in the power of communities and how we help citizens and changemakers create better worlds.
They will be a committed and passionate individual, comfortable taking a visible public relations role and representing Community Lab as an organisation dedicated to the improvement of Scotland. They will provide visionary, strategic leadership both internally and externally, foster inclusivity of thought, and promote the brand and actions of Community Lab in Scotland and beyond.
The Responsibilities:
- Facilitating initiatives such as community wealth building and wellbeing economy at all levels of society.
- Develop propositions for potential clients across public, corporate and third sectors.
- Help to create, develop and deliver a unified technology platform fit for these ambitions.
- Facilitate joined up policy, investment and capacity funding.
- Explore decentralised and collaborative approaches to problem solving.
- Break down the silos that separate ordinary citizens from anchor institutions.
The Candidate:
- Proven background in business development in the technology, philanthropy, charity or public sectors.
- Genuine interest in the power of communities, small groups and empowering us all to better shape the world we inhabit.
- Happy to work in a small team and take ownership for your work.
- An attention to detail and strong communication and empathy skills.
- A collaborator.
- Interested in alternative or disruptive forms of thinking and governance.
- Able to ideate, strategise and execute locally, nationally and internationally.
